Principal's Message

Good Afternoon STEAM Legacy Community Members,

I am excited to introduce myself as your principal for the 2024-2025 school year. I am humbled by the opportunity to lead STEAM Legacy on a road that has already been paved and formed by the remarkable success and innovation in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

My journey in education began 21 years ago as a teacher assistant, and later, as a math teacher. Believe it or not, I was not the best math student. I struggled in college, spending numerous hours improving my skills. My failure in math is what led me to become a math teacher. Often, we learn that struggle is not a good thing, that if you are good at something, it should be easy. Therefore, my commitment to our students is to ensure they are not defeated in the face of struggle. Instead, they should roll up their sleeves and try different approaches. They should dive deep into their personal motivation and use their abilities as resources to achieve their goals.

To the parents, my commitment is to continue supporting and advocating for your child. We will work together to best support your student in setting and achieving goals. I encourage you to become more involved, as we know that students with more involved parents succeed beyond measure.

To the faculty and staff, I look forward to working together in a collective effort to continue the incredible work you have done. Your hard work and dedication extend beyond the school hours, showing care, love, and support for our students. I am grateful for your efforts and look forward to supporting you in making your work more innovative and ensuring our students are prepared to lead in our communities, society, and the world.

This year, we welcome our students with open arms, ready to embark on another year of growth and achievement.

Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our students' success. Together, we will continue to build a legacy of excellence at STEAM Legacy.

Sincerely,

Wendy Y. Monroy

Principal, STEAM Legacy High School
